The ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, Ames Chamber of Commerce and America’s Small Business Development Center at Iowa State will be co-hosting a workshop that will take you through all aspects of starting a business including topics such as insurance, intellectual property, business organization, registration, legal, banking, and operations.
Participants will hear from area small business owners about how to run a successful company, including tips and advice for would-be entrepreneurs.
The workshop will be held at the Ivy College of Business, on Saturday, December 1, in two segments. Attendees may register for one or both sessions.
Session 1 is scheduled from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and will include the topics: Ingredients for Success, Banking Basics, Accounting for Business, Intellectual Property, and Operating a Successful Business.
Session 2, scheduled from 1:00 to 4:00 pm will include the topics: Ingredients for Success, Insurance for Small Business, Legal Aspects of Running a Business, Marketing Your Business, and Operating a Successful Business.
The workshop is free and open to the public. The registration deadline for the event is tomorrow, by November 28.
