Position Overview:

Genvax Technologies seeks a molecular biologist to lead the development of self-amplifying RNA vaccines for the treatment of livestock diseases. The manager will be responsible for the molecular work required to generate DNA constructs, synthesize high quality mRNA, and produce sa RNA-nanoparticle vaccines.

Essential Job Functions:

-Selection, editing and defining DNA sequences
-Cloning and linearization of DNA
-In vitro transcription and purification of RNA
-Quality control of RNA
-Nanoparticle Preparation
-Training and directing the activities of personnel
-Purchasing supplies and maintenance of instrumentation
-All other tasks as needed by the Company

Requirements
-M.S. or Ph.D. required in Microbiology, Immunology or Molecular Biology
-Experience and strong training required in molecular biology
-Experience desirable in:Vaccine production
-USDA/CVB regulatory documentation for vaccine licensure
-Good Manufacturing Practices
-Ability to work out of our lab in Ames, Iowa
-Must be able to perform essential lab functions satisfactorily

Organizational Relationships:

-Reports to Chief of Staff and Facilities
-Genvax Technologies has an experienced Scientific Advisory Board that will be available for advice and direction
