Since forming in 2014, Pitchly, a data collaboration application for business teams, has focused on selling its software to global professional services firms—law firms, banks and accounting firms. Now, six years later, the company is expanding its scope, offering its software to a larger variety of businesses.
Pitchly’s data collaboration platform allows business teams to create and share content. The company’s patent-pending product connects real-time data to Word and PowerPoint documents, eliminating errors and repetitive work.
“The problem we solve is not unique to professional service firms,” said Ryan Gerhardy, CEO of Pitchly. “For the last decade businesses have been instructed to track and capture data from their customers and operations but front-line employees are stuck trying to find productive uses for this information in their day-to-day work and that is where we come in. We are building the app store for businesses data one step at a time and it is working.”
Pitchly made headlines last year after completing a seed investment round. The round was led by Next Level Ventures, with participation from M25, Great North Labs and Ames Seed Capital. Pitchly also received funding from the Iowa Economic Development Authority through its Demonstration Fund program as well as the Wellmark Venture Fund.
“Pitchly enables corporate employees and IT teams to collaborate seamlessly with their business information to turn work from repetitive and task-driven, to automated and data-driven outputs,” said Michael Brook, CTO of Pitchly. “We often talk about data strategy with our clients because we compliment the good work they are doing, and give their internal IT teams the ability to deliver solutions to front line employees quickly and efficiently.”
Local Iowa businesses are starting to take notice of the benefits of using Pitchly’s platform.
“Firms have to adopt and adapt to stay relevant. There are endless tools to use,” said Adam Claypool, Managing Principal of BP Growth Partners, a Pitchly customer. “We are always looking for something that brings value, yet is easily customized to our business. Pitchly is one of those solutions with a roadmap that aligns with our approach.”
Premiere Party
To celebrate the company’s growth, Pitchly is holding a Premiere Party on Aug. 29. The event is being self-described as a “red-carpet event for business leaders located in Iowa to network and hear about the innovation being built in Iowa.”
Pitchly will showcase its mission to make data-driven work fun and automated for employees of all business types by sharing stories from local customers.
“I am excited to host Iowa businesses to promote the message for business leaders to buy local software, because built local can be purchased globally in this industry and we are bringing real economic growth and innovation to Iowa,” said Gerhardy.
Businesses that attend will receive a Pitchly account with preloaded credits, allowing them to try out Pitchly’s software.
Admission is free but is limited to 100 Iowa-based businesses.
