Nearly 200 Iowa legislators, government officials and Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) members gathered at the AC Hotel in Des Moines last night to discuss TAI’s legislative priorities and initiatives for 2020.
“Legislative activities, in our opinion, are a team sport. We can’t be disparate in our approach to legislation. We have to be organized,” said Dan Kramer, Executive Vice President of Shazam at the event. “And while we may disagree on certain issues, we have to come together as an industry to help each other out.”
TAI first unveiled its legislative priorities and initiatives for 2020 last November.
TAI’s legislative priorities this year are to:
- advance policies that attract human and financial capital to Iowa.
- elevate Iowa (rural and urban) as the premier state for technology workforce.
- promote policies that foster a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- ensure Iowa’s K-12 technology curriculum is the best in the nation.
