The Startup Champions Network (SCN), a national network of entrepreneurial ecosystem builders, has picked Des Moines to host its annual Fall Summit from Oct. 12-14 at Gravitate Coworking, the organization announced recently.
The goal of the summit is to convene ecosystem builders from around the country to discuss key ways to collaborate and improve the US for entrepreneurs. Attendees will learn how ecosystem builders foster trust, form genuine collaborations and address obstacles and challenges together.
“This includes conversations about policy and metrics, but it also includes conversations about entrepreneurial trends, intrapreneurship, and transformative programs happening in places like Des Moines,” said Tom Chapman, Board Chair of SCN. “We also intend to immerse ourselves in the local ecosystem to learn as much as possible about all of the things that Des Moines is doing right.”
Geoff Wood, owner of Gravitate Coworking (and Publisher of Clay & Milk), submitted the application to bring the summit to Des Moines.
“Des Moines is an outstanding choice for the Startup Champions Network summit. We appreciated Geoff’s long membership and the role that Geoff plays in the ecosystem as a convenor and leader. Moreover, the region’s central location with plenty of non-stop flights was key to the group’s decision.”
