LWBJ announced last week that it has been acquired by accounting and professional services firm UHY.
“We are very excited to join UHY,” said Paul Juffer, Managing Partner of LWBJ. “Our firm has enjoyed significant growth over the past 30 years because of our talented team and wonderful clients. Joining UHY allows us to provide expanded services and resources to better serve our clients and additional opportunities for our employees. There is great chemistry between the two firms and a strong alignment and vision for the future.”
LWBJ’s partners, professional staff, and administrative team members will all join UHY and will continue to operate from their existing offices in West Des Moines and Ames. The Iowa offices join UHY’s growing Midwest Region of over 200 employees with offices in St. Louis, Kansas City and Houston.
LWBJ has become a familiar name in Iowa’s startup community, having overseen and advised many of the state’s startups through financing rounds, mergers and acquisitions. The firm has also been a top sponsor of several entrepreneurial programs throughout the state including Ag Startup Engine and TAI’s Prometheus Awards.
The LWBJ brand will be sunset and will transition to UHY over the next 6-12 months.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Congrats to the team at LWBJ! Those folks have done as much as anyone (maybe more) to support entrepreneurship in Des Moines and entrepreneurial organizations. Awesome to see a company like that who has tirelessly supported the community have a great outcome.
