ImOn Communications (ImOn), a broadband company based in Eastern Iowa, has announced an agreement to acquire Sioux City-based FiberComm pending regulatory approvals.
ImOn was founded in 2007 and has since become a major provider of fiber broadband services in Eastern Iowa. The company currently owns and operates more than 2,000 miles of a regional fiber network that reaches over 77,000 households in its current market.
FiberComm has provided businesses in the Siouxland area with internet and phone services for over 20 years.
“ImOn and FiberComm share a vision to provide reliable, high-quality services and responsive, caring customer support in our respective markets,” said Patrice Carroll, CEO of ImOn in a release. “We look forward to working with FiberComm’s excellent team to build ImOn’s service footprint in the Western part of Iowa and provide fiber broadband services to both residents and businesses in the Sioux City area.”
The acquisition of FiberComm will be the the company’s first expansion outside of Eastern Iowa.
The deal is expected to be closed in 2023.
